Music
Welcome to
Charters Ancaster's World of Music
Charters
Ancaster offers a wide range of
instrumental tuition to its pupils. The team of
specialist music teachers who visit the school are
highly qualified, experienced professionals with
excellent performing skills.

Instruments
offered include violin, cello, flute, saxophone,
clarinet, guitar, trumpet, trombone, piano and drums.

Over 70% of
pupils at Charters Ancaster learn an instrument and in
years 3, 4, 5 & 6 all pupils are taught the recorder.
Key stage one children are offered kindermusic.

The school
has a large Orchestra, brass ensemble and junior string
group with all pupils having the opportunity of playing
in an ensemble.
Children at
Charters Ancaster sing on a daily basis. Assemblies are
held three times a week with traditional hymns and songs
from around the world.
The school
participates in the Hastings Music Festival each year
and produces musical plays and concerts throughout the
year.
The
Christmas Carol Service at St Stephens Church brings
together the very best of primary school music and
nativity celebration.

A new
opportunity for the children is the prep school choral
day at Eastbourne college, when pupils are invited as
choristers for the day and then sing evensong in the
college chapel.
