Nursery

The Nursery School aims to work towards the Early Learning Goals for the Foundation Stage as defined by the Department for Children, Schools and families (DCSF).
It is OFSTED inspected and registered with the Early Years, Childcare and Extended Schools Service to redeem Nursery Grants for 3 & 4 year olds, ensuring high standards of pre-school education for your children.
Various education vouchers are also accepted, please enquire.
Our Aims Are:
- To create a relaxed, family atmosphere in which a child's natural eagerness to learn is encouraged
- To treat each child as an individual whose abilities and talents are developed
- To ensure success and the growth of confidence for each child
- To extend the able and support those with difficulties
- To develop social awareness and a respect for tolerance, courtesy, self-discipline and the rights of others
The Nursery School Structure
Parent and toddler group : Every Wednesday at 1.45pm, 50 weeks of the year – an ideal chance to meet the staff and see what the nursery could offer your child
Saplings Room – the starting point for children aged 2 years
Twiglets Room – children aged 3 years
Sycamores Room – for rising 4
year olds – housed in own room alongside the Preprep in the main
school with access to own fully enclosed outside space
Chestnuts Room – transition class alongside our
Reception Class for those joining the main school the term
following 5 years old.


Activities
The Nursery school holds a Sports day, plays and concerts
throughout the year and all children are encouraged to
participate..
Parents are not left out with a number of social events and
parent open evenings during the
year.
The children are able to integrate with pupils in main school at
various events including picnics in the school grounds.
The purpose built nursery offers a free flow environment with
secure access to outside.


About
Children can start at any point during the year but it is
recommended that a space is reserved as early as possible to avoid
disappointment.
Your child is welcome to experience the nursery on Free taster
morning of your choice.
A 10% discount is offered to the first sibling and 15% to
the second.
A minibus service is available, mornings and afternoons.
The nursery staff are caring and suitably qualified. The nursery
has an ongoing commitment to training.
Discounts are available to nursery children progressing into the
reception class.
A uniform is available to give the children a sense of identity.
